Mike Byrnes: Owner/ Director

Mike has had a variety of success through the game of basketball. After spending three years as an assistant coach at WPI and Nichols College, he stepped away from the college game and began to focus on youth basketball.
Mike began coaching for the Central Mass Swarm in 2012. In January 2012, Mike took over the reigns  as the program director, quickly growing the program to 20 teams. In November 2016,  Mike created the Metro West Swarm and in February 2017, he created the Bay State Swarm. Both programs are serving as an expansion toe the Central Mass Swarm. The Bay State Swarm are being run out of Southborough, Sudbury, and Blackstone MA.
 In addition to the Swarm, Mike is also the Owner/CEO of 1 Stop Basketball which is a full time program which offers training, conditioning, camps, clinics, leagues, after school programs, and much more. 1 Stop Basketball opened their own facility in Webster, MA and also moved into the M-Plex in Mansfield, MA this winter. Dave Lyth: Associate Director

Dave Lyth is the Associate Diector of the Bay State Swarm. Coach Lyth has extensive experience coaching and directing AAU basketball programs, previously serving as Director of Player Development for Mass Elite and Director of Metrowest programs for Team New England Select. In addition to his amateur basketball coaching career, Coach Lyth coached at Lexington High School and the Brimmer & May School. Throughout his career, Coach Lyth has been involved in the development and recruitment of many high level college basketball prospects numerous Division 1, 2 and 3 players.

Coach Lyth has also served as the Director of Hoop Mountain Basketball Exposure Showcases, Skills Director for Hoop Mountain Junior Elite/Positional Skills Camps and Event Operations Coordinator for the popular Zero Gravity Basketball Tournament Series. In addition to his wealth of experience in basketball, Coach Lyth has a Master’s Degree in Education and serves as a Physical Education Teacher in the Natick School System.
